I think it would make me sad if I see I gain a pound that's why I don't go on the scale daily.

I go on the scale daily as well but, I know there will be fluctuations. The only time I get upset is if it keeps going up and not coming back down. That hasn't happened with this surgery, if it went up a pound or two it was usually off within the next few days. I also remind myself that fluctuations in levels of hydration will make the scale move as well.

I learned early not to weigh every day. I get on the scale once a week and that is great for my mentality. Keeps me on track thru the week so I'm not disappointed when it's my day to weigh.

I admit to being a daily visitor to the scale. I find that I need that day-to-day feedback to ensure I stay on track. If I see it go up a touch, I am extra good the next day to ensure it comes back off very quickly. Just me, I suppose.

I'm like MsCook above, I am a dialy scale person too, I like to catch it early if I can for the same reasons above. Plus when I see a drop it gives me even more incentive to go that extra mile while working out :) I'm a daily weigher and dam proud of it - LOL :)

I so totally do this. I also weigh daily, which was a bad thing until I learned to accept flucuations were part of the process as were stalls. Neither bother me in general except when I get close to a goal, like being below 200 (almost there now) and my evil body just to spite me puts me into a stall or that gain and lose bouncing game. I get annoyed but it does not get me down, now I just joke about it and know that eventually the weight will come off and I just up my game. Without the daily weigh-ins I think I would go into shock LOL....Honestly since I am on the losing track way more often then the gaining track right now I find weighing daily is very helpful and keeps me motivated (even on the days I lose since it just makes me work harder). I am guessing soon there will be a time when the weight loss really slows down less then that average 3 pound a week weight loss I am currently experiencing and then I might join the once a week weigh-in club!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
