Terrible About Vitamins

Recommended Posts

How come you have so many? I only take multi' date=' b-12, Biotin and calcium chews.[/quote']

The big blue pills are for an ulcer which I have to take 4 times daily, along with the small yellow pill. What else you see is the 4 big white pills (calcium), my birth control, my zyrtec, B12, Biotin, 2 multi-Vitamin gimmies, and Iron

I am constantly forgetting to take my Calcium. Not sure if everyone is aware but you should not be taking your Iron and calcium at the same time because they compete for absorption.

I was told take them at least one hour apart and that's my down fall. I take my multi and Iron first thing. Then "plan" on my calcium an hour later. I stick it in my pocket' date=' go to work and come home at the end of the day, take off my uniform and there it is in in my pocket still! I'll take it then and then forget to take my second multi an hour later!!!! Ugh![/quote']

I do the same thing! I just started taking it with the others. My NUT said better than forgetting all the time.

I have to do Gummies! They may not be the best brand or type to take but it is better than taking nothing!! I can't even stomach the other stuff.

My clinic says we do not absorb gummies, just FYI..

The "not absorbing" IS THE PROBLEM. Maybe not 6 days, 6 weeks 6 months or 6 years out.....Some bodies just don't well , at all, with this surgery. I'll try to attach a article.that explained a lot for me and my life time battle with the "Cons" that are now being studied because of so many issues later in life.

Thanks guys! I am fully aware of the pros and cons against gummies. I've found something that works for me for now and my doctors and nutritionist are happy with my bloodwork. Actually my Vitamin D is higher now than before surgery which is totally surprising!! I wish I could stomach the other stuff, but I gag.

That's a very good point. Seems like common sense. I don't know why I didnt think of it before.

Please take your calcium...I now have to get yearly "Reclast" IV infusions from Rheumatology DR. , I take RX Vit D, gel, 50,000units 2 times week, high dose, and do my own B12 injections....still deficient. One of my many "regrets".

Suggestion ...go to American Board of Neurology and Gastric Bypass patients. This will also somewhat explain why i responded to REGRETS OF HAVING SURGERY. Living it.

I set daily alarms on my phone for times I need to take my Vitamins, and I have a travel case that I can just throw in my purse every day for these middle-of-the-day ones. Works great!

That is exactly what I do, also, I have started using Bariatric Advantage capsule vitamins and I swallow them whole. Also, the Calcium I get from GNC they have two flavored chewables from the be-Balanced brand, one is chocolate brownie and dulce de leche. The are awesome! They taste like desert! :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
