On 7-25-12 I weighed 300lbs and started my liquid preop diet. I had rny on 8-13-12 weighing 281lbs. My current weight is 270lbs. But I haven't lost any weight in the last 10 days. I upper my Protein from 70g to 100g and have increased my activity but the flippin' scale is not moving.....what should I do?

Have you been checking your measurements? It must be difficult to see the numbers stop early but know that as long as you do everything right, it will happen. Since I'm pre, I can't pull from my experience in this but do know, as I got older, weight didn't come off as quickly. Plateaus hit earlier for me.

I'm sorry your dealing with this so soon. But hang in. I know it will begin melting soon!

The same happened for me and I had a few week stall in my second month. It will start coming off, just keep doing what you are doing and you will start losing again. Your body has to adjust to the changes in your body and needs a break. You are also still healing. Do not feel defeated because this is just the beginning and you will start losing again. After the stall I have never totally stopped losing, but I have gained and lost weight. I now average about a 3 pound weight loss a week, which is slower than many but it is consistent and it is working for me. I am now halfway done to my weightloss goal and will be 3 months on the 7th. Just be patient and consistent and it will start moving again. Remember this is a marathon not a race, and the slower the weight comes off the better you have for having less flapping skin- at least that is what I keep telling myself ;).

Drink enough Water, get enough Protein, get enough sleep, up your exercise and get those Vitamins and there is no way you will not get past this stall.

Best of luck and relax it is all good~

P.S. sometimes when you are in the stall you are losing inches all over, so measure yourself and check that every week as well, you might be amazed, I know it helped me.

Just keep doing exactly what you're doing. Stay focused on following the protocol, stay active, and stay away from the scales for at least a week and longer if you can stand it. Stalls are frustrating but perfectly normal. Trust the process. You'll be glad you did and you're gonna love the new you!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
