his_only_mrs 1 Posted September 3, 2012 Okay I'm only at two weeks out but I can't do the puree foods...the texture in my mouth just makes me nauseous!!! But I know I need to eat something...I'm so tired of mashed potatoes and applesauce, grits make me sick and I just can't do the shakes. But I know I need Protein pronto!!! Any suggestions? punk.rock.mama 101 Posted September 3, 2012 greek yogurt, powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup Protein, sf jello/popsicles, COTTAGE cheese, milk, peanutbutter, baby food, i even blended some meatballs with mashed potatoes veggies and some chicken Soup Protein at one point. you have to get it in otherwise you'll lag in healing and feel worse for longer (trust me, i was in the saaaaame boat and only JUST started to regulate and getting in what i needed) goooood luuuck!!! 1 kristy3k reacted to this

punk.rock.mama 101 Posted September 4, 2012 How far post op are you? You can always try, but dumping is tough and can lead to further complications ? Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk

punk.rock.mama 101 Posted September 4, 2012 Only two weeks...guess I better not because I don't want to experience that at ALL!!! It is SO hard at this stage, I am almost 4weeks post and am just now starting to introduce solids and feel better, maybe try a thick Soup (pea soup, clam chowder ect) will give you new flavors and a consistency that is a little more appetizing Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
kristy3k 1,133 Posted September 4, 2012 I ate every Soup I could lay my hands on. I dont know how to make Soups for one so I ended up looking at the premade ones for the highest Protein content. Bean soup has a good consistancy, good taste and high protein. Hang in there this stage will not last long but you need to follow the guidelines so that you can heal. jenneliza 257 Posted September 5, 2012 You can try to chew carefully but if something gets stuck you will be sorry. tuna, egg, chicken and seafood salads are easy to purée and taste the same. They helped me alot. Also pureed crab cakes minus breadcrumbs before they were baked. Did my purees more like a paste than liquid.< /p>
