None of the above. I no longer care about the holidays. Sad isn't it?

Idk why but I can't eat chicken or pork. I'm having a hard time during the holidays but good thing is I guess since I won't be eating my husband isn't forcing me to go out & do BBQ. Maybe next year I will feel normal about holidays. Idk what I'm gonna do about thanksgiving & Christmas. I always make big meals on the holidays.

You had your surgery already right? How you get all that down? Did anything give you any problems? I find that meat unless it's grounded and soaked in a chilli or stew or Soup I can't keep it down. Gets stuck and it comes right back up. Never tried soda yet. juice I have been drinking to no ill-effect.

Yes 6/25/12. I have had no issues other than being dehydrated 6 days after. I don't eat like this often, but it's a holiday.....and i had 4 days off.

I had a grilled veggie burger with no bun, a dab of lite mayo, a little onion and Tomato and a piece of fresh spinach. A 1/4 of a dill pickle and a tiny salad of fresh spinach, a couple chunks of cucumber and tomato with fat free dressing. I have went through TOO much to mess up....this was my first real meal since surgery...ill be 6 weeks out tomorrow.

Everyone is different and what our bodies can tolerate is also different. I'm 6 months out, to me it's not so much what I eat but how much. I ate a tablespoon of potato salad. I did forgo the cake for my sons birthday because I don't want to fall back into my bad habits. I haven't had pop in over 6 months and Minot going to. Each must determine what is right for us.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
