Suuuuuuuuper!... So this evening in a rush to eat I ate my food faster,... Much faster then I should have and you guessed it... Dumping occurred.

Silly silly move Mr. Potato Head!... My poor wife who had never seen me dump before was concerned so I took this as an opportunity to teach her as to the finer points of dumping.

The good thing is that it wasn't the food as te moment I felt better(which was about 5 minutes later, the benefits of being a fast dumper) I was able to return to my meal and finish it off without any problems once I slowed down.

Oh well, live and learn ... And learn some more, or again ;)

I had a half cup of spinach souffle and 3 organic chicken pot stickers...

It wasn't the food that cause me to dump but rather the speed that I eat my first few bites that did it. I was able to recover quickly and finish my meal off without any problems

I think that is what has been happening to me. I'm eating too fast and feeling sick to my belly. I have to slow down as well.

I am about 4 months out and I know immediatiately when I have eaten too fast or not chewed enough. It literally feels like my food is stuck in my throat and the only way to resolve the psin is to have it come back up. It is the most miserable thing ever! I feel your pain brother!

I've found the easiest thing is to not wait more than 3 hours between eating, then I'm not so hungry!

I am the same way! It hasn't been anything I have eaten, but I was eating chicken and the minute I swallowed I knew I hadn't chewed enough. Foamies then a little vomiting. Learned my lesson. Been feeling kinda crappy since.

It's weird that we know the second we swallow if we chewed it enough or not! But saddly by then its too late :( its happened to me twice and its not fun.

Gastric bypass will definitely teach you to eat slower. I've never had it come back but I have a couple of occasions where I was undeniably sorry I ate it so fast. A good thing I reckon in the overall scheme of things. In my case, eating too fast is also usually synonymous with not chewing well enough. Very uncomfortable!!

I had a bit of chicken and as soon as it started down I knew if was not going to sit well my god that was the worst pain I have ever felt. Never knew throwing up could make you feel so good.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
