Had my sleep study last night and omg I hated it. I thought I had no problems previously with sleep apnea but lo and behold' date=' was told I stopped breathing 49 times for 15+ seconds! And the pressure had to be on 14! I'm shocked but thankful that I'm aware of it now. Could this be the reason that when I wake up everyday that I'm exhausted as if I never even slept? And does this effect potential surgery? I have about 4 more weeks til I can submit ins approval.[/quote']

Mine was 80.9 times!!! Mine was controlled with a pressure of 13. It will actually help you get approve b/c it's a comorbitidy! It can cause CHF (congestive heart failure) if you don't use it!

Yes that is why you are so exhausted. Once you get used to the c pap you will feel so much better. Good luck.

Yes it certainly is the reason you wake up tired and it will help your surgery. But my doc has a policy if you have sleep apnea you must wear the cpap for 2 months pre op. so get it and start wearing it so you have your 2 mnths in before your surgery date.

Mine requires it too so it decreases breathing complications during surgery.

I had my sleep study and they said how I slept I didn't have apnea BUT they didn't get me on my back at all so I have been waiting three weeks to get one of the take home tests so I can sleep On my back just to be sure because they won't clear me for surgery until they know how I am on my back :P which blows because it's the LAST thing I need finished before they submit my stuff do it can't come fast enough! Was told this coming week, we'll see!

That happened to me too. I'm a stomach sleeper. I had the study done twice at the lab. I start out on my back and before you know it I'm on my stomach. Lol.

Yes that is why your exhausted, I too have sleep apnea I pretty much self diagnosed it wen for test and yup I have it. I started with the cpap but now I have the bipap which is much better, I cant go a nite without it im addicted, and as I think back I told my mom I prob had it as a teenager cuz I could fall asleep in a heart beat but it does work. I xant wait to that day come when I can retire it tho. Oh and having sleep apnea is a reason they could potentially approve your surgery.

What is bipap?

A BPAP machine allows the air that is delivered through the mask to be set at one pressure for inhaling and another for exhaling. This makes it much easier for the user to adapt to the machine and allows a person who has a neuromuscular disease to use the device. These dual settings also allow the user to get more air in and out of his or her lungs.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
