I got results of sleep study and have sleep apnea. Need to pick up a machine! I guess it's going to help but apprehensive to say the least!!!

I am addicted to mine! It was hard to get used to but as long a you make sure to at least put it on EVERY night (even if you take it off in your sleep) it soon becomes second nature! I feel the difference everyday and it is so soothing now it actually helps me fall asleep!!

I have sleep apnea too. It might take several masks before you find the right one. After that you will be fine. I had my surgery in April 2012. I have had to have my pressure on my machine reduced twice. My doctor told me I will be off of it soon. So look at it this way after you lose some weight eventually you might come off of it. Good luck.

You will love having the machine. You will feel so much better. I went thru several masks to find one comfortable enough for me. Now I wear it every night. I travel with it. Even if I'm not in bed but feeling like I'm gonna fall asleep, I go to bed just so I can wear it. Good luck to you.

I am addicted to mine also!! You're dr can order an auto titration study from the company you got your machine from!! What the docs here do is order one with a pressure of 5-15 and what happens is it will start at 5 and go as high as 15 and what ever pressure you stay at in that range for a majority of the night will be your new pressure setting! We don't charge our patients for the study either, we do it as a loaner machine and the doc usually orders it for 7 nights! Hope that helps!

How did you know that u needed to have the pressure lowered?

I kept feeling lightheaded. I told my primary doctor and he couldn't find anything. I told my ENT and he couldn't find anything. So when I went to my sleep doctor I told her and she said my pressure might be too high. My pressure was set at 10. She adjusted to 8. Like magic I haven't been lightheaded. I never thought it could've been my cpap.

I have had mine for years. At first it was hard getting used to and now I can't sleep without it. It actually has become as important to sleep with as my pillow or covers. My concern is after I have the surgery and don't need it anymore. Will I be able to sleep without it? I mean I do want to be able to eliminate it but I worry that I have just depended on it too long. I do hate the lines it leaves on your face. Everybody know when you have been napping in the middle of day because of the tell-tale lines. Lol.

My doctor hasn't taken me off of mines yet but he has me using it very other night. On the nights I don't use it I have no problem going to sleep.

Had my sleep study last night and omg I hated it. I thought I had no problems previously with sleep apnea but lo and behold, was told I stopped breathing 49 times for 15+ seconds! And the pressure had to be on 14! I'm shocked but thankful that I'm aware of it now. Could this be the reason that when I wake up everyday that I'm exhausted as if I never even slept? And does this effect potential surgery? I have about 4 more weeks til I can submit ins approval.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
