FOr the last three days I have had this ache in my stomach, don't know what it is! Could something be stuck? It's not like the usual when something gets stuck in chest feeling it's actually my stomach. Any ideas?

I am still amazed that everyone is not on an acid blocker of some sort! I am on Prilosec for the rest of my life.

I was given prilosec at the hospital and a RX for it and I take it everyday. They said I will have to for the rest of my life. I am also shocked to hear you guys weren't.

I take Pepcid but doc said only for 6 months cuz I have a fundoplication. I thought the sleeve patients were the only ones that had to take acid reducers forever?

Same. I was also put on protonix and ulcer meds. It was an ache in my sternum that got way worse when I ate or drank and got bad enough that I wasn't eating

One of the main reasons I had this surgery is because it is supposed to get rid of reflux. Doc said I will be off dexilant (for reflux - proton pump inhibitor) within 2 months and that I shouldnt have to ever take acid reducers. As for your problem, I had the same problem. Doc said I had an irritated stomach and to stop my supplements for 2 days and take my reflux meds (u could try the.prilosec its otc) and go back to Clear Liquids. After 2 days resume supplements and diet. It worked like a charm. Good luck, I hope you feel better.

My doctor put me on Prilosec and said I would have to take it for the rest of my life. I have very little gas and if I do a short walk takes care of that

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
