Hello all, I'm new to this and just getting started.

My diet is like akins diet, but I'm haveing a hard time keep bread, Pasta and tortillas out of my diet! Things are moving slowly for me because moneys wise I have to save...but I hope to have my sugery by next April. If anyone has any tips, or advice please share with me

Paula, Welcome!! This is a great place for tips and support! Everyone here is very nice and they share the REAL details with you which is so great. I hear you on the carb deal. I need to cut them out too but this time I am struggling. I have my first Dr. on Tuesday. Good luck to you!!!

What makes it harder in us is that "healthy" food is a lot more expensive then a bag of rice or Mac and cheese, spaghetti, potatoes etc.... its hard financially to buy food for us and food for them ( especially for me because my husband refuses to change anything in his eating)

I know what you mean.....I work in a grocery store and it so much easier to pick up that bag of chip and soda for a break. I've been trying to make me lunches to bring but aslo I work the late shift so when I get out I'm starving and I over eat at 2am but no more excuses I can do this thanks to great people like you all!!! Just make sure you get your 55-60 grams of Protein in each day. My hardest so far is getting 64 ounces of Water a day. So far I can only do around 30-40 ounces and about 20 ounces of Decaf coffee

      Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...
