rev.meckenzie 18 Posted August 27, 2012 My Dr told me to be eligible for surgery I would need to lose 30 lbs. I was thinking to myself, if I could lose weight I wouldn't need the surgery. But I am 21 days into my pre-op diet and have lost over 15 lbs. My wife who is also having the sleeve is in her clear liquid diet, I have decided to support her by limiting my diet to full liquid. This has helped, most days I have been able to keep my calorie count to under 1600. Wish me luck, we would like to get me scheduled for surgery by end of November. Wish me luck. PaulB 346 Posted August 27, 2012 You can do it. I was told I had to lose 15% of my weight or 20lbs as one off the requirements for WLS and maintain that for 6 months of weigh-ins. Cut out sugars carbs and salt and you will drop even more Good luck to you and your wife Surgery Anniversary 7/30/
worm2872 635 Posted August 27, 2012 Good luck to you!!! You both have each other and the boards here for support. Carbs are a killer. I started my diet on the 17th. Not too good so far but I traveled last week and did much better than I usually do.
kisersassy 369 Posted August 27, 2012 I am struggling with this weight loss process so much. I feel constantly hungry even after I eat. Like for dinner I had 1 1/4 cup of veggies and 3 ounces meat. No bread no fruit. I also did a Protein Drink for Breakfast and had a deli sliced chicken sandwich for lunch I have drank so far about 30 ounces of Water and Decaf coffee

kisersassy 369 Posted August 28, 2012 Yeah...before this process my day consisted of waking up anywhere from 8-10 am and drink coffee and smoke my cigs till around 6-8 pm then have dinner. I had to get use to eating lunch and dinner. I still don't do breakfast instead I have a Protein drink
