PaulB 346 Posted August 27, 2012 Why would you want to eat something that has no nutritional value except taste and if you have to cover it with some type of Fluid to make it taste better what's the point. Sorry maybe if I eat more salads I wouldn't need WLS. Again sorry Just being a butt head I can't stand salads Surgery Anniversary 7/30/

BBdoodle 483 Posted August 27, 2012 I love salads ... but I am almost 5 months post op and for some reason they scare me. I started eating a very small salad w/tuna about 3 months post op. It did not feel right going down so I kind of stopped eating them. PaulB does have a point.... I want to eat my Protein FIRST... Hopefully I will be able to like salads again but for now I have been staying away from them.
lorid 13 Posted August 27, 2012 Each nutritionist is different as well, they want you to get your Protein in first then veggies and starch after that in that order. Eating a salad with protein kills two birds with one stone. Veggies also keep you fuller during the day. When I had the lap band, to me the salad was a waste of space now I love them with tuna and deli meat. Some can tolerate it, some can't.
