I had surgery on Thursday. Left Saturday afternoon. Was ok for first week. About a week out developed excruciating muscular pain. Was completely laid up until 5 weeks post surgery. Was off for 6 weeks. But I'm apparently one of the very few exceptions to the rule;)

I had surgery this past Wednesday and left Saturday morning. My heart rate was up and I had alot of nausea so they kept me that extra day. I'm still very sore and it hurts to be up moving around so I'm still resting alot. Good luck :)

Surgery on Thursday went home on Friday. Went back to work after 2 weeks and other than being tired at work it was fine. I also was up moving and doing things immediately, mostly because moving and walking helps the gas pain anyway, so might as well walk in the air conditioned store or mall rather than the hot street more than I had to... I walked 3 to 4 times a day though LOL (was 90 plus the weeks after my surgery).

I had my surgery Aug 29 Wednesday, and left Thursday Aug 30. I had no complications or no breathing issues. I had no nausea or high blood pressure. I was well although I still have left side pain. It's more of an ache. Also a headache I don't know if it is from the sedation or what but I am sleepy so mostly resting and getting up every hour or so to walk a little. Hope it helps.

I went home the next day. Pain wasn't an issue and I was sooo ready to sleep uninterrupted for more than an hour!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
