rabrijumo 140 Posted August 25, 2012 Ok I went to my first support group and as the night went on the group leader asked a new post op how much she hadReduced a little later another newbie asked why she asked that q in that way instead of asking how much she Lost. The answer was enlightening. Since we are trying to change ingrained habits behavior modification if you will. Saying you Lost something has the connotation that you would want to Find that something. So she trys to use words that don't have that verbal cue like reduced or eliminated. Those words don't have us looking for the pounds. Interesting huh? 1 ladyspl reacted to this

rabrijumo 140 Posted August 25, 2012 Why not simply say I was xx pounds & lost xx pounds.. I'm so f proud I'm telling everyone that tells me I look great LMFAO I think the point was that when you say I lost xx pounds semantically it means some where sometime you want to find those pounds and put em back on and no way in hades do I want to find the fat I am going to ELIMINATE OBLITERATE get rid of for the heck ever!
