I have the same issue. I am 7 weeks post op. I have to take stool softners and Miralax daily. I'm hoping it gets better.

I'm 4 1/2 months post op. You are eating way less food now, so you are not pooping so much. The first week post-op I did not poop then it was back to regular poop schedule :) i would talk to your doctor about this or eat some prunes or drink prune juice ;)

I hate not being able to poop I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and poop every other day and not much then. Doctor says its normal if it goes on longer then 3 days he would recommend a laxitve.

I was in the same situation I wouldn't go for a week and a half at a time, but the thing that works fore me is I eat an apple before I go to bed every other day and it makes me go. I guess it's the Fiber in the skin and apple but it works at least for me it does.

Why can't you have applesauce no sugar added or sugar free. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and doctor says that's fine. But that may not be what your doc want so do what your doc says. Haven't tried any Med's yet hoping apples will work

Good luck

Milk of Magnesia helped me a lot but be sure to buy the flavored one - accidently bought the unflavored one - BIG mistake! LOL! Colase is also a very good stool softener. And the good news is that you'll get to your "new" normal pretty quickly.

Nasty stuff huh? LOL But the flavored isn't too bad and MoM works - at least it did for me.

No, no taste! It can take a few days to work though.

No it doesnt. I mix it in 4 ounces of crystal light.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
