kloveburd 132 Posted August 22, 2012 And I can't find out any more information because insurance lady is gone for two days but left a message last night saying I was approved and they are sending the next steps in the mail but I want to know now! They said they're sending the diet requirements to the hospital, does this mean I will have a regular supervised diet or just pre op diet? Will surgery be soon? So many questions! Lol
kisersassy 369 Posted August 22, 2012 Congrats on your approval. I can't wait to get it but I still have a ways to go. These last couple months sees to be taking forever
kloveburd 132 Posted August 22, 2012 I think I still have a while too, I've been researching/started this journey to this decision since march. I'm looking forward to it!
kisersassy 369 Posted August 22, 2012 April was my 1st month of 7 required by my insurance company. I have completed all tests except the pysch evaluation which they have scheduled for October 3rd. I am hoping it doesn't take too long after that. I guess end of October or beginning of November. I am going to try and find out more tomorrow at my monthly appt
kloveburd 132 Posted August 22, 2012 That's awesome so you're almost there I haven't had any testing done yet I just had my obesity evaluation/consult. That's kinda why I wanna know what else I have to do so I can schedule everything!
kisersassy 369 Posted August 22, 2012 The ones my doc requires were EKG, endoscopy, pulmonary function test, and blood work.
kloveburd 132 Posted August 22, 2012 How long did it take to get those all done?
kisersassy 369 Posted August 22, 2012 Well my pcp did the ekg in his office plus the blood work in April and had the pulmonary function test scheduled for me a couple days after that. In June my surgeon did the endoscopy. I have to wait till October for the pysch evaluation because she is so booked up I had to make it like 3 months in advance
kloveburd 132 Posted August 22, 2012 Ah ok well that's a lot better than I expected lol. My surgical doctor is a little over an hour away so if I had the chance to get most everything done before at my pcp that's great! Sucks about the psych eval but If I have to wait that long I think it'll be ok. I was hoping to have it done later around Xmas time so I didn't have to miss school and I get a pretty nice bonus from work at the end of the year that would have helped me being out of work for 3 weeks and I don't get vacation time
L Belle 96 Posted August 22, 2012 I've had all my required testing, and evaluations done, my paperwork was supposedly sent to the Insurance company last week. I am waiting to hear back for an approval, I am praying, crossing my fingers and whatever else I need to do.
