What Is The Best Flavoring...

Recommended Posts

I am curious which flavoring people like the best or which is pretty accurate on taste. I'm also assuming that it's safe to use these anytime we want. Davinci sf Syrup, Torini syrup or the Capella drops. I have also read where people put sf pudding in their shakes. ( do you just sprinkle a little bit of the powder mix into your shake).

I like adobo & garlic powder. I know adobo is salty but it's a dash on my fish when I make it. Taste really good.

Too me half a banana works well or an envelope of decalf instant coffe with a little vanilla or hazelnut sf syrup is great!

The best Protein out there is Max Protein from SEI Nutrition! I tried after Eggface suggested it was the best tasting and she was fit! I have been drinking for 4 yrs

I use vanilla as a base mostly sometimes chocolate but mostly vanilla. I bought sugar free instant pudding all the different flavors and sugar free Syrup I add two tbs of the sf pudding and a tsp of the syrup to my shake with some ice and it's awesome. I had a really hard time with Protein powders they made me gag I couldn't get all my protein in and I got very sick so I went on a mission and decided to come up with something I could live with. These are real treats I hope this helps

I use the toriani sugar free syrups. PB2 (powdered peanut butter) is great and can be ordered from Amazon. It even comes in a chocolate Peanut Butter flavor. I have tried the sugar free Jello pudding mix. As a base I alternate chocolate or vanilla Protein. I have not tried the Capella drops yet but plan to order some soon. Hope this helps.

Today I put 1/4 cup of cold coffee, 1 T. of Torini S.F. chocolate Syrup into Bariatric Advantage Vanilla Powder. I added Water to the cold coffee until it was 8 oz. It was a delicious Mocha drink! I've been having fun with using extracts and the Torini S.F. syrups. It's the only thing that has kept me sane! lol

I am trying Syntrax Cappuccino in decalf coffee. It is really good. Not so thick as some of the others. Plus it dissolves in hot coffee!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
