Over night I eat one before I go to bed and by morning I have to go. I use to not be able to go for a week at a time and it hurt bad when I did go. So now I eat a some every other day.

Sounds like you need some adjusting to your diet. How far along are you? Best bet is always to call your bariatric center/surgeon and nutritionist. They can help!

I take 2 senna 2 times a day. Senna is a softener and laxitive in one pill. I go every 3 days or so and doc says that's fine. We don't eat enough to go every day.

You probably need to try and drink more Water too. I know it's hard but it's necessary.

Okay. I know this is tmi but I am 3 months out of surgery. I have been so constipated for the past week. I am drinking 8 tbsp of milk of magnesia. Nothing is helping. What can I do??

My doctor gave me colace, which I bought the generic brand and I drink one a day and that has helped a bit. I still only go every two days.

I only go every 2 to 3 days but I'm not constipated. There's a difference. Youre really not eating a whole lot. So there's nothing there to get rid of. Right after surgery I didn't understand either. I went from going 2 to 3 times a day to every 2 or 3 days.

My problem is not Constipation, I am fairly regular. It's that I get so miserable if I don't have a bm every other day because I will vomit. I don't get it. I'm not taking in enough to warrant the discomfort and nausea. Wtheck. Stools aren't hard either.

I have not used the bathroom in almost 2 weeks. It is very uncomfortable. If I take anything I Hurt like no other. This is killing me. I can't hardly exercise or anything.

Since I've been eating Ezekiel flourless bread. I don't have that problem anymore. I eat one slice a day.

Have you tried Miralax? I take the generic version and some stool softners daily. Neither of those hurts my stomach or gives me cramping. You may want to call your dr.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
