SilviaC 20 Posted August 15, 2012 I am in the emergency room getting IV fluids. I was told I am dehydrated. I seriously have tried my best to get liquids and Protein in but I just feel so full that I can't take anything else by mouth. I hope after the fluids I will feel better. Any ideas on how I can get more fluids in so I can prevent dehydration in the future? surgery date: 7/30/
kiwiladydee 402 Posted August 15, 2012 I actually leave bottles and cups everywhere in my house and I put a 30 min reminder timer on my phone. This one is a struggle!!! Ughh
SilviaC 20 Posted August 15, 2012 The phone reminder is a bright idea. I'm gonna try that to see if I can get more liquids in. Thanks for the idea. surgery date: 7/30/

Jen in SoCal 189 Posted August 15, 2012 I had a problem with dehydration and the ER doc suggested Gatorade G2 or power aid zero. Make sure you get the Gatorade low calorie. It has about 30 cals per 8oz serving. They both have pottasium which seems to be so hard to get. It's less expensive than pedialite and tastes good. I went to buy pedialite but it didn't list grams of sugar on the label. I'm no chemist so I skipped it.
Sandy009 11 Posted August 15, 2012 I get the unflavor one is has NO sugar but it has a good source of potassium
