cmbd 17 Posted August 15, 2012 I'm 3 1/2 weeks post-op and have lost 35 pounds. I've been doing well except one of my small incisions is infected, and antibiotics don't seem to be clearing it up. Beginning yesterday, I brgan feeling really down and crying about everything. Has anyone else gone through any time of depression or feeling down?
NewCarrie 4 Posted August 15, 2012 Congrats on the loss thus far. So sorry to hear about the infection but don't let things get you down now. You've made such an important decision in your life and need to focus on moving forward. Things will look up soon...while I'm only a week post op I'm sure some of the veterans on here will chime in with some great words of wisdom from experience. Yes, I cry quite a bit for any little thing. We are on the same boat. Just stay positive:-) surgery date: 7/30/
msgitsme 0 Posted August 15, 2012 I've had a few bouts of depression, especially when I went to my 3 month checkup and had only lost 4 pounds. Boy I really beat myself up that time. But I told myself what I needed to do, dusted myself off, put one foot in front of the other and told my self I can do this. Purely mind over matter. Remember you are in control. This is a big change for all of us and it will take some time to get to where we want to be. At my doctor appt this month I was down 19 pounds for a grand total of 80 pounds in 4 months.
