Plateued :(

Recommended Posts

So I had RnY on 7/30 and have gone from 326 down to 292.... I know that weighing myself everyday isn't a valid measurement however I've noticed that I'm no longer dropping the pounds. I've just recently as of yesterday started going back to the gym doing simple cardio, gentle yoga and light aqua aerobics. I'm hoping that this is only a temporary pause.... Right?... I've been doing so well don't want to get discouraged

The same thing happened to me. I was plateaued for a while and then joined a gym. The weight is coming off again. I do weigh myself everyday. I find that if I don't get all my Water and Protein in everyday, then my body won't release fat. So exercise, drink water and get all your protein in and you will be fine. My surgery was on 6/6/12 and I am down 50 pounds so far. 100 more to go!!!

I agree. If you get the protien and water you loose. I am watching that happen to me. I just learned I have a stricture that will be addressed Friday. Now for 6 days I've not kept much food down and I'm trying like hell for the water, and I'm working again.....you would think is lose something......nope! scale won't move. I am mad but don't be discouraged. Science tells me that 300 calories is way less then I'm burning ....my body and yours is trying to protect its self. It will pick up again. Keep your chin up

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
