Maggie0557 31 Posted October 19, 2012 OK... Went and had an EGD this morning. No stricture but very red and inflamed all the way down to the point that it's starting to erode a little. Back to square one! Strict liquids for two weeks then back to the doctor. They did change one of my meds which they think will help! Maybe things will get better... Jess...Surgiversary 9/19/12 Jess, Are you taking Nexium or Prilosec? I am so sorry for your troubles, I hope this is the start of an upswing for you.
Uniqueladybug 80 Posted October 19, 2012 My regular doctor had me on ranitadine. I was having problems crushing all my meds and this was a liquid. It's basically liquid zantac. The problem-it contains 7.5% alcohol. Also I'm on a very strong antibiotic for an abscess tooth. They said it would destroy a regular stomach let alone a small one. They now have me on protonics. I took it years ago. Hopefully all this will work... Jess...Surgiversary 9/19/

4Kimmy2 56 Posted October 19, 2012 NurseTab don't give up!! We all go through a stump in the road. It's not an easy road to losing weight. Keep moving! You will lose weight! You can do it!
rabrijumo 140 Posted October 20, 2012 Jess sorry to hear about your inflammation . Hope the meds and liquid diet give it time to heal. Hang in there! Tiffany I have heard a lot of people on the boards say they had stalls. I would recommend keeping at it and avoid the stupid scale. Check with clothes of various sizes instead. Exercise and focus on the changes you are making in your habits. It's hard to go back to the old ways because of the size of the pouch and chances of dumping. Good luck
rabrijumo 140 Posted October 20, 2012 As for me I finally converted back to normal rhythm after over 37 hrs of a fib. It's extremely debilitating I can barely get up to the br without feeling horrible. I really can't wait for the surgery to fix it but that will be 6-12 months of major wt loss before they consider me a good candidate. 1 Uniqueladybug reacted to this

The kicker, it comes in granules. So now I get to wait till Monday. Maybe I wasn't supposed to have this surgery or ever feel better again! It's really the only solid thing that I can always keep down.

It's really the only solid thing that I can always keep down. What they prescribed me has a special coating on it that can't be crushed. It's almost like an egg shell when you try to crush it. It's also supposed to help heal the erosion in my esophagus. I'm just soooooo tired of feeling bad! I've got a massive headache all the time. I have no energy. This was the worst decision of my life!
