Hello there! We have the same date, bypass buddies!!! I started a liquid diet Sunday. Blah... I'm so excited I have someone on the same day...yippie!

Hi Jessica & Lydia! This is Kerry, (cksauve4) thanks for adding my name to the list. I appreciate it!

My surgery is this Wednesday, 9/12 and im sooooo nervous!! The hospital just called and went over my history with them. I guess they will call back tomorrow evening and give me a time to arrive at the hospital. I am the 11am case! I just cant believe its come to this, ya know? But, anything to make me healthy and live a long life with my family. Ive been on this terrible Protein shake (4 a day) and only raw veggies since 8/29 and im sooooooooooooooo ready to be done with it. Im dying for some normal food. Anyways, its good to be a part of this wonderful website and support system. Its great to know we are all going through this together. :wub:

Today I packed my bag for the hospital, b/c I refuse to wear a hospital gown. I will go and get my pedi and hair done in the AM , and small mani as you cant wear nail polish to surgery. I spoke to the Pre-op RN today and went over all my med HX, and of course they need to come in 8am Wed for blood work and ekg, which I have already had done, but it is their xtra safe protocal, so be it... other then that, I made a list of the things i need and I am going to have my husband go to GNC and pick up the liquid Multi Vit for me and then go to the commisary on base and buy SF Jello and stuff like that when I am in the hospital. Im leaving the cleaning to him and my 17yr old son.. lol

Hi everyone I started my Optifast today did well but I am so going to be sick of it way before the 24 th lol

Vitamin B(surgeon ordered).. Check

I will be getting B12 shots once a month.

Ok we are 40 strong! 4 of which are my surgery sistas and I got the color to work weeeeeeeee

Jess (Ubug) now that I have joined you on the liquid diet I feel your blah. lol though the sugar free Popsicles helped a lot . Hang tough we can do this! If it helps I have to be on it 1more week then you so feel lucky :)

Deb what staples are you talking about? In the laparoscopic insertion sites?

Wow congratulations to y'all! I'm 7 days away! I started this at 331 I'm down to 321 right now and still have 7 days I really wanted to be under 300 for Surgery. Blessings and prayers to all. Wish I had a surgery day buddy!!!!

      Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.
