Okay, the only things I can eat right now is Greek yogurt, sliced turkey and low fat cheese - is that a problem ?? I cannot put any Protein Drinks, Protein Cookies or Proteins supplement of any kind in my mouth without wanting to puke. Any one else at this point?

I get all my Protein from food. If I had to drink or eat anything with whey protein' date=' I would starve. Can't even stand the smell of it. It makes me vomit. My husband drinks Protein shakes after working out/lifting and I will not even let him come near me while he's drinking it![/quote']

I hear that !!! It's disgusting to me now!!'. So you eat the meats and cheeses too ?

Oh wow!!! I'm sure you have lost more than me. I just started losing weight bc I had so much Fluid. Yes, I eat a ton of cheese and meat. They want me to add more vegetables but I'm so concerned with getting in the protein...I don't get a lot if veggies in. Are you doing ok since the surgery?

I was doing great right after surgery because I was re hospitalized becuz of pneumonia, they kept me on liquids longer. But I really haven't lost this past week at all and it's frustrating! I am also recovering from a huge abdominal hernia repair they did at the same time so I can't exercise as much as I need to do I get frustrated alot! I am happy to hear that you are a meat and cheeser too - I prefer them to anything !! We will have to keep in touch !!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
