I think you are doing well. Just remember we are all different and we all loose at a different. I think 22 pounds on 1 month is good. I'm only at 25 pounds in almost 2 months and when I went to see the Dr they said it was good that I was on track. Just remember it took years and years to put the weight on it will take time to come off. Stay positive it will all work out in the end

Only lost 22? I think you're putting too much pressure on yourself! You've done fantastic 22 pounds girl...that's two 10 pound sacks of potatoes and 2 boxes of butter. think about that.....we're not even allowed to carry that much weight one month post op. :) Sometimes we have to put things in perspective in order to see it...so picture those items.

Keep exercising and eating the proper amount of Protein and the scale will move. Our bodies can be stubborn at times and with less cals going in and more exercise happening, it could be holding onto the weight for a bit. We're all going to run into stalls but, for how long have you stalled? If its only been a few days or even 1 week...if so it will move. How often are you stepping on the scale?

You've been through enough with the surgery and all......give yourself a break and try not to be so hard on yourself. BELIEVE ME I know it's easier said than done.....we all do a great job beating ourselves up (heck I'm better at it than any Ultimate Fighting Champion) but what we really need to do and love and accept ourselves. We made a great decision to get healthy and it's happening but, everyone has a different pace and our bodies definitely let us know it. It's going to come off, 22 pounds is fantastic for one month!

Do freak out over the 22 lbs.... I think that is awesome. I am 4 months post op and have lost a total of 40 lbs. which is averaging 10 lbs. a month. From what I am seeing the less weight you have to loose the slower it comes off. My BMI was 37 and I had a total of 75 lbs to loose. I am glad its coming off slowly for my skins sake - LOL. There are some weeks where the scale does not move, I follow my eating plan exactly. Each of us are different and loose in our own time. Keep up the good work :)

I think 22 pounds is great! I will be one month on Sunday and I've lost 18 so far. But I didn't lose anything the first two weeks due to Fluid retention. The doctor told me not to compare myself to other people (which is hard). The scales are moving in the right direction so don't get frustrated! :)

Thanks everyone I wasn't thinking that 22 lb is more than what I had tried to lose before the surgery. :-)

We are all different & will lose weight faster or slower. As long as we gave a goal we exercise and eat the right food we will be skinny in no time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
