Starbucks On Week 2 Post Op

Recommended Posts

I do on occasion have regular coffee but find I only drink about 4oz of it. If I go to Starbucks I order a Decaf skinny vanilla latte with 1 splenda and it is yummy. You can do that with any of the sugar free syrups and if you order regular coffee in a latte, there is not a ton of coffee in a latte.

But it really doesn't. If it just meant nonfat then it would be "nonfat" not skinny. Just because some barista's are dumb and forget doesn't mean that Starbucks standard isn't skinny=sf&nf. Maybe the confusion is "light"? If you ask for a light frappacino it does NOT cover sugar free' date=' just nf milk and light base and no whip, so you do.have to specify sf for that. Really, I promise, skinny DOES mean sugar free and non fat.

Can you order a skinny pumpkin spice latte? Lol love that stuff!

Surgery 7/25/12

I checked yesterday. They don't have it in sugar free yet. At least where I live at. They did show me their instant coffee ones in pumpkin spice. I haven't tried yet.

Thanks! :) it sounds to good to be true. I bought a grande skinny vanilla latte yesterday, and I'm still sipping it today. I drank about 1/4 yesterday another 1/4 today... Delicious and hit the spot :)

Good news! I guess we can have the lemonade at Starbucks. I always assumed it was synonymous with like minutemaid (aka 50% sugar) so I've avoided it since surgery because I couldn't get concrete nutrition facts - but after trying a sip I realized it's basically straight lemon juice, so i've been sipping on an arnold palmer (black tea & lemonade) all day and I'm in heaven. Passion tea & lemonade was my favorite pre surgery and I'm so excited

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
