Jessica89 16 Posted August 7, 2012 At my doctors office they require you to do 4 nicotine tests ...1 per month for 4 months if u were a smoker in the past. I just got my 4th nicotine test back and failed it. I was shocked. I couldn't imagine what had happend. Come to find out they failed to tell me to stay away from people who smoke because second hand smoke can show up on a test. 4 days before the test I was at a bachelorette party which was at a casino filled with smoke and our hotel room was a smoking room and almost every person was a smoker except me. I typed up a letter to the surgeon and faxed it to her explaning how I think this happend and that I do smoke. I already got my surgery date and if she decides to not trust me on what I am telling her about this test then my surgery will be pushed back. I don't know how to handle this....im sooo close and now this happends. Im a little upset with them because how can they expect me to not be around any single person who smokes without telling me that I shouldn't be....and besides that ..my husband is a smoker so its always on his clothing. Uhh...its just been a bad day. So if anyone could plz pray for me that my dr. Will decide to go ahead with the surgery...that'd be awesome. Thanks everyone. JustJenn 542 Posted August 7, 2012 How upsetting! I'm praying for you! If you did smoke I don't think you would push hard to go with the surgery. Hopefully she thinks the same too. Best of luck! Keep us posted!

Anniesmom12 181 Posted August 7, 2012 I hope everything gets resolved quickly for you and that things go forward as planned. I am having issues with my Dr's office over a different situation...but to be SO close and get this kind of issue pop up is heartbreaking! Hoping it's all good soon! ajcappy 13 Posted August 7, 2012 Sending prays! I hope it all works out. I know what you mean. I'm an x smoker and my mom smokes likes its going out of style. I told her she has to start smoking outside. It's been so nice cus I don't smell like smoke anymore. And she has cut down the smoking . My dr has a nose of a blood hound. I was so happy that I passed the test. It will all be ok

Sent from my Verizon DROID3 using RNYTalk I didn't like the mocha flavored shake. The chocolate with Fiber was ok. I also preferred the variety pack of bars. It was $130 for a 2 week supply. That paid for 8 boxes (7 items per box). I was required to have 4 items a day and a low carb meal. I picked 4 boxes of shakes and 4 boxes of bars.
Jessica89 16 Posted August 9, 2012 Ohh ok thanks for the information. That doesn't sound too bad. Luckily they are letting me put it on an account and pay it off over like 6 months if I need to. You're insurance doesn't care if you smoke it's the Dr's office. You can always ask if they test for nicotine. Then you don't have to worry so much. Good luck!!
