I had surgery July 24, so 2 weeks tomorrow. I am choking down these shakes, but really not enjoying them, and feel like I could possibly get all my intake from food. I am on puréed for 3 weeks starting last saturday.

Input on this meal plan is appreciated.

Breakfast - tilapia 1.5 oz 10g Protein

Milk skim 9 g protein 8 oz

Lunch- tilapia 1.5 oz 10 g protein

Mille skim 9 g protein 8oz

Dinner-tilapia 1.5 oz 10 g protein

Milk skim 9 g protein 8 oz

All tilapia can be exchanged for tuna equalling same amount of protein.

And 3 bottles of water16.9 fl oz...

Mind u I love fish. Now this is only 54 g protein, any ideas on the other. My dr recommends 70-90 ...my protein is 25 grams. Should I just choke it down. For the leftover. Also my dr is 3 meals 1-2oz daily.

Have you try Isopure 40g pro ? I like the icy orange the best :) not 100 % sure if it counts as fluids as well but it's 20oz

Shrimp is an outstanding source of Protein as is turkey, chicken and even extra lean ground beef. There are a lot of tasty variations on turkey and chicken - turkey or chicken sausage, turkey bacon, turkey Jerky, turkey chili (if you add Beans that's another source of protein), turkey or chicken burgers, turkey or chicken meatballs, etc. Hard to beat eggs and egg whites are practically pure protein. And you could add practically anything that swims to your list - crab, cod, scallops, trout, salmon, tuna - if it lives in Water I eat it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
