Hi everyone!

I have waited almost a year for this to come full circle. Just one more day and I will start a new chapter of my life : ) I am lucky to have a loving and supportive husband thru all of this. He's always told me I am beautiful no matter what. He's a keeper. I am tired of being tired. I am tired of missing out on all the rides at Busch Gardens for the last four years because I don't fit and don't want to be embarrassed by trying to fit.

My goal is to be healthy and happy and ride that dang new roller coaster by the end of the year : )

I am scared I will fail. There is no room to fail yet the thought is there.

One day at a time. Right : )

I know how you feel. I decided to do it when I took my son to Great Adventure's and was asked to get off the ride because the bar couldn't lock :-( it was the most embarrassing and lifechanging moment. That's when I knew I had to take my life back and start living and have FUN!!

Hi there.

I also go tommorow and can not wait! I agree completely with everything you said. I have 4 children and want to start participating more in their and my own life.

I am a bit nervous today, just can't wait to get on the other side of this.

Wishing you luck and much happiness. :)

Oh my gosh I have seen them do that to people. That is why I just stopped standing in the lines even. It broke my heart when my daughter told my husband "Mama doesn't like roller coasters". Ugh yes I do. I made her a promise last Christmas I would ride a roller coaster with her. It was so sad having a lady larger than me stuff me it the ride just so I didn't have to break my promise to my daughter : (

The ride attendant wasn't really rude...just said that the bar couldnt lock nd I had to get off. At that point I hadn't been to an amusement park in about 11 years so I didn't know I couldn't fit, was a bit skeptical but decided to chance it :-( it wasn't really the fact that I couldn't fit...it was the laughter from every1 on the ride and it was so hard not to cry.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
