Feel Like Im Going To Be Sick

Recommended Posts

4 days post op. I'm still in the hospital. I feel like I'm going to throw up if I stand, sit, take a bite of something, even suck on an ice cube. There giving me nasia medicine but not 100 percent. My Fluid intake was 2 oz for the day. Just can't do it or I hurl.

I had issues for a while with nausea as well. They tried 5 different meds on me in the hospital until we finally got it under control. The best med for me was the suppository they gave me but, you can only have that once every 12 hours. I did notice if I moved too quickly I would feel the nausea come quick. I hope they find something to help you feel better and have it subside.

I also came home with a script for anti-nausea meds. I used them daily for the first 4 days but, then eased off them. I found a few different days I needed them again....I took half and it worked. I'm now 3.5 weeks post op and haven't had the issue for the past week, week and a half.

good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

You're welcome Bambiv. Don't be afraid to ask for a different nausea med either. They have quite a few they can try. Not all are the same! Once you get that under control you'll be up walking around and feeling good. Nothing like walking when you feel nauceous...I was there...thankfully we found what worked. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon and can get the heck out of there :)

I did try another medicine that seemed to work better. I haven't needed it since yesterday afternoon. I hope that is a good sign. One thing I have notice is when I sit up. It almost feels liked my stomach is jumping. And a burp lots over a good 20 mins on and off.

I have noticed that if I'm drinking Water and my chair is a little slumped back it doesn't go down as easily as it does when I'm sitting up straight. I had a lot of burping for the first few weeks but, that seems to have eased up as well.

Just have to remember they re-routed things in there so there is bound to be air and gases in there as well that need to come out and adjust themselves. It does get better :)

Are you home now?

Thank you. I will try sitting straight up when I drink now. I just spoke with my doctor and am going home today. Yay!
