Newbie in TX, wants to do Baylor program for LapBand

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am new to the LBT. I have been reading as a guest for a few weeks. I am interested in the Baylor program in Dallas.... because they are in network on my BCBS plan and they come highly recommended. I have enjoyed reading the forums... Does anyone in the DFW area have experience (good and bad) with the Baylor program? I work in WI four days per week so they are going to treat me as an "out of town patient" simply meaning I attend the mandatory seminar and the consult appt. within two days, and after surgery have to stay in Texas "home" for two weeks...... Two weeks for LapBand, does sound "normal"??

Thanks to all for the info being put out there, it is so helpful for the newbie!

I don't know this program but 2 weeks off work is a lot. I was back to work on Monday and had my surgery the Tuesday before. Good luck.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
