Today Starts My Liquid Diet!

Recommended Posts

I ate a popsicle on the way to work! Ha. I have a 10 day strict liquid diet. Ok now the question. Does it feel like u just drink and eat Jello or some like that one right after the other? The Oh Yeah! Protein Shakes are really good and 32g of Protein, 3g sugar, 220g cal in each bottle. Sipping on it has helped broth fill me up. Trying to send pic!

I'm starting day 11 on my liquid diet..it has not been fun!! 3 more days after today...it didn't get easier for me until day 5. One thing that helped was blending my Protein Shake with ice....you almost feel like you're eating when you chew on the ice.

Your hubby is also getting surgery? I had a 30 day strict diet. I got used to it I was loving it. Sat down with my plate a piece of fish & vegetables. Diet snapple. 2 shakes & a snack. My stomach closed before surgery. I was eating less food after 2 weeks diet.

If you think the liquid diet before surgery is fun wait till after surgery and your still on liquids.

I only had to do 1 week pre surgery liquid diet then 2 weeks after surgery. As soon as I went to purée I throw out all the Jello in the house and will never eat Jello again

Sorry to anyone that has to do more

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
