So my refferal just went threw to see the psychologist  !! ahh i hate having to wait for the docs to send the refferals in to tri care then wait for tri care to approve them then have to wait for that docs office to give me a call seems like a eternity! Im so impatient i guess thats my down fall but after the psychologist all i have to do is see the nutritionist. I wanna get everything done and over with so i can start my new life skinny and healthy.

On another note i have a question what does the psychologist ask you? I mean i don't know why we have to go to one? I think its gonna be a waste of my time.I have a problem with people telling me "how do you feel about that " makes me angry  like just because you read some book doesnt mean you know me. Idk maybe thats just me

My psy. evaluation was totally not what I expected. They just want to make sure you have reasonable expitations of what this surgery is and that it is not the only tool for successful weight loss. It is a combination of surgery, proper nutrition, and exercise.

I asked my psy. evaluator what do they look for to deny people. She said she denied one woman who came in with her hubby who was in total control of her and she was not doing it for her but she was doing it for him and she denied her. She also told me of a boy that was 16 who was very overweight who came in with his mother, his mom was calling him fat and lazy etc., she said the poor kid just sat there. She denied him the surgery as well because he was there for his mom and not for him self.

Each evaluator is different but in general they are looking for YOU having a total understanding of nutrition and expitations of the surgery.

My visit was just going over what surgery I was going to have and he asked if I knew what kind of diet I had to maintain for my life . Then he asked me if I had any worries. He then told me most women had problems with their breast size after the surgery. Had to laugh because that came out of a mans mouth hahahahaha

I just had my eval on Tuesday it was fine but a little weird asked funny questions like do you hear evil spirits ? And do you read the newspaper? And if you do is it only the comic section? Lol but I have to wait till the 29 th for my last appointment with the nutritionist which it took her 3 weeks to call me and now I have to wait another 2 weeks :-(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
