robynshaw 6 Posted August 1, 2012 Hello all! I had my first RNY and hernia repair on June 13, 2012, a revision RNY and gallbladder removal on July 11, 2012. My main incision is on my right side. It is a nasty looking one, too! Yesterday, I tried moving a chair at a meeting that I quickly realized was too heavy for me to lift. Someone moved it for me and I sat down. About 10-20 minutes later, I started getting stabbing pains about 1-2 inches below my main incision. Has anyone ever experienced this? I don't want to call my doctor just yet because: 1) I'm tired of bugging him and don't want to if this is a normal pain and 2) I don't have anymore time available to leave work (for x-rays and whatnot). The pain worsens when I try to bend and getting in the car is an absolute nightmare.

robynshaw 6 Posted August 1, 2012 My stoma was 100% blocked. My doctor said he had never seen it. The scar tissue just built up so much nothing could pass through. He had to cut out the scar tissue, make my pouch smaller and make another stoma connection.

Bert_n_ernie 60 Posted August 1, 2012 I've been having a stabbing pain in my left side incision site. It had gone away but came back with a vengeance day before yesterday. Idk if It's related to trying to do too much or a staple pulling or what. I haven't called my Dr. Because I have an appt next week, its not red, warm, or streaking so I will wait. I'm only 1 week post op. New Life Started 07/24/
BBdoodle 483 Posted August 1, 2012 I had my RNY 4/9 and gall bladder removal 6/26, I too have pains but on my left side where the larger incision is. It sounds like you could have a muscle pull. I would call you doctor... that is what YOU pay him for - right !!!!
robynshaw 6 Posted August 1, 2012 Thanks for the input. I think I will try to make an appointment, but he won't be in town until Saturday. I guess I will tough it out until then.

robynshaw 6 Posted August 1, 2012 How do you know if your aroma is blocked I couldn't keep anything down, not even Water. It started on July 3rd. I went to hospital on July 5th to get rehydrated and still couldn't keep anything down so July 9th or 10th they did an ultrasound to check my gallbladder and on the 11th an EGD to check the stoma.
