Liquid Diet Starts Tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Planned a nice super with my family tonight, it was delicious and fun! However I felt disconnected, like I was secretly moving away from then and nesting inside to prepare for a whole new life starting tomorrow. I'm just headed to my Aunties house for some wine and potentially the biggest cry of my life, I'm feeling pretty sad but not depressed, it's all apart of grieving I imagine. I love my family, here's a pic of them:) Over and out! xo

Cry your heart out!!! Your ending a relationship. If you're like many of us, food has been your constant companion, what you turned to in hard times and how you celebrated good times. In a way you are losing one of your best friends. In the end, it's a good change, but still a very hard and stressful change. You'll do great but go ahead and cry it out :)

I'm on day 3 of my liquid diet. I'm hungry and have a bit of a headache, but it's not too bad. Luckily I only have to do this for 1 week. Surgery on Aug 8.

I'm feeling kind of the same way... Scared of what is to come. Worried about the changes. BUt, I have to remind myself that I felt the same way each day before I had one of my children. I have 4 kids and 3 were induced labors and I cried my eyes out the night before because I was scared of what was to come. Even with the last one when I knew my life would be blessed beyond belief! I start my liquid diet on Wednesday. I feel like each meal I eat is a "last supper" (or lunch or breakfast). BUT, I am so sure that this is what is best for me and my family in the long run. I have to remind myself that I am more important to my family than my food is to me.

Good Luck... Keep in touch!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
