Thanks everyone, I came home from the thospital on Friday afternoon, I will not lie I was miserable !! alot of gas pain and back pain, seemed like I could not get comfortble. I am feelin better now.. All i though to myself in the hosptial, why did i do this, I could of dieted !!!! But I know why I did this , it was for the best. It's just hard to think that when you feel miserable!! Ive been confused about what I can eat, the doctor's paperwork is alittle different from the dietician from the hospital !! according to his paperwork I can have some fat free pudding , i'm trying it now with my medicine crushed in it..not the best tasting, but it's going down !! It's a slow process, I have to remember that and just take it one day at a time.

Day after surgery when they took out med pump I was in so much pain,I too was asking why I had done this. But everyday was better and after the gas was gone I was 100% and off pain meds on day 4. I love your outlook of TYJ. Best of luck on your recovery!

I

I did not have a pain pump, but they sent me home with a liquid pain medicine, I stopped taking it after the 4th day also. Im still having burping issiues after I drink any thing, even with small sips !!I do agree, that every day it is getting better.

The TYJ I got from a Facebook page, they have great inspirational sayings, and I really think it helped me alot with this journey of mine, I actually got it tattoo'd on my right inner arm !!

Best of luck to you also.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
