ousooner 1 Posted February 10, 2007 5 weeks is actually very quick compared to what I have heard from others. It took about 2 weeks to have my psych eval and sleep study and get the results back to him. Then another week and a half or so to get it to insurance and approved, and then was scheduled about a week and a half after that. I think insurance holds most people up. I would agree with the aftercare. He does give a paperowrk for after care and I beleive there is a support group and a nutritianist available at the hospital there, but he is not very active in it. I have found support through several online boards to be sufficiant for me along with the couple of dozen friends and co-workers I know who have had WSL. missy67 0 Posted February 10, 2007 OU did your insurance require the psych eval and sleep study or is that something that dr cribbins requires? the reason i ask is that i have read several posts where its a consult then the surgery. your replies are great. thanks
ousooner 1 Posted February 13, 2007 Insurance required the psych eval. I mention that I snored a lot and he ordered the sleep study. Don't know if insurance required it or not. Hope things went well today
missy67 0 Posted February 13, 2007 things went great.. they already turned the letter into the ins.. luckily my ins does not require alot for approval. they do not even require the psy eval. but Dr Cribbins' coordinator wants me to schedule it. i want to make sure that my ins approves first. on the letter they put a surgery date of march 5th.. keeping fingers crossed

HelenC 0 Posted February 18, 2007 Another Dr. Benavides fan here. He banded me on 2/14/07, and the AIGB group was great at leading me through the process, including the insurance approval, which we got in less than two weeks.

ReneBean 3 Posted February 28, 2007 I love Dr. Fox - and I really love the Surgery Center of Richardson. I had my surgery there and it was wonderful. Plus, I have had no complications, and the fill center is awesome. :]

8675309 0 Posted May 23, 2007 Those of you that use Cribbins, if I see him for a consulatation during the first week of June and am going to try to get insurance to pay, what time do you think I can hope to have the surgery? Is there any was it would be done in July???
GayleTX 1 Posted May 23, 2007 Much of it depends on how quickly you can get appointments to jump thru the testing hoops....then how soon the office staff submits it to insurance....then how long it takes the ins. underwriter to review it....then what the surgeon's schedule is (summer vacations, etc. draw things out). It will depend on how quickly you get get in for any other tests that may be required and how quick the insurance company is re approve. Like I said in a previous post, the stars aligned for me and I had my surgery 5 weeks to the day after my innitial consult. Hope it work that well for you.
