Psychological Evaluation?

Recommended Posts

I have UHC. My Psychiatrist I have been seeing for a few years wrote the letter for me. It was one visit and paid nothing. He is in network' date=' so that's why no fee.[/quote']

I keep forgetting about the "in network" aspect of the insurance. I was with Kaiser for soooooooo long and I never had to worry about that lol. I am just gonna specifically look for a in network psychologist because the one I spoke to was in the packet that the program gave me about bariatric surgery. Hmmmm....I need to investigate some more because I do not want to have to pay when I do not need to.

My work has 2 insurences. The mental health insurence is United Behavorial Health. My surgeon works with a specific therapist who for the 2 hours cost 550.00. He was not in network. That involved the test and talking with him for an hour. He didn't charge me seperately for the write up...but it has to be said. All I could think the entire time was how this wasn't worth the money. But in the long run it will be.

I see what ur saying....I am just wondering is it possible to find a psychologist that is in network and the hospital and insurance accept that? Or do we have to use the physicians our surgeon guides us to?

You can use whoever you want. They all have the same training for the most part. Use someone in network!

I was told I didn't have a choice if I wanted to use that surgical team. The nutritionist, surgeons and therapist all work together. It does make it easier that they all talk and work together. This process had been pretty seamless.

I only have to go for one appt. 3 hrs in the morning and another hour in the afternoon. I just got a call today that it is going to cost me $502 total because of my high deductible. I just have to keep thinking all of these things that bring me down now will turn into something positive in a few months.

Hey guys' date='

I have a question for those of you that have made it past the Psychological Evaluation. When it was time to do the Psychological Evaluation did you have to see the Psychologist once or more than once? Also, did insurance cover the visit or visits? The reason I ask is because I spoke with a psychologist this morning who said it would take four visits for her to do her recommendation for me to have wls and then an extra hour to write the actual letter and she also said that insurance would most likely cover the visits but that she charges 140.00 for the hour to write the recommendation and that I would be responsible for that. Does what she said sound right to you all? I am pretty confused. By the way my ins. Is United Healthcare:)[/quote']

I'm still seeing the therapist, she says I need to see her once a month for the support because I have a lot going on.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
