Mel Delburne 11 Posted August 5, 2012 I used to have a pop addiction where I would drink a few cans of Coke a day. I gave it up in January when I started the pre op program. I haven't has pop since then. Now that I'm post op I don't plan to ever have it again. One I don't want to deal with the possible side effects and two I didn't do this my body to get back into my addictions again. I know that one sip would turn into a can and then it would go down hill from there. However this is just my personal choice because I know where I came from and I never want to go back there again. 2 ccrn2b and cooksie reacted to this

jessamarie24 173 Posted August 6, 2012 Really????!!!!! You're the FIRST person to tell me their dr okayed soda at all. Well they definitely don't want me drinking soda because it's empty calories. But my nurse said we are all humans so if it happens to make it diet and limit it to 1 cup. But she said they would rather I not of course lol. I'm going to try not to but when my friends are all drinking it would be nice to sip on something else besides water!

nomorefat 74 Posted August 7, 2012 I went to a support group meeting and was told that it is very common for over 70% of people that go back to any kind of soda regain a good portion of the weight they lost. I was an coke/ soda drinker and I have chosen not to go te flat diet soda route. I want to keep my weight off. I was willing to give up soda and candy to be healthier the rest of my life !!! 1 working4shoes reacted to this
