How Long To Digest?

Hi Everyone ~

I was wondering how long it takes you, on average, to digest things? I feel like my stomach stays (physically) full for hours & hours. Is this normal? Thank you!

I think mine is like 2-3 hours

Usually about 2-3 hours for me as well but I think it often depends on how far out you are. When did you have your surgery?

Surgery was May 30, 2012. I feel like it takes a long time to digest most things. :/

The opening from your pouch to the intestine (stoma) is usually about 12mm or roughly the size of an M&M. That's why it is so important to chew very well. So depending on what you eat and how well you chew, it may take longer for some foods to pass into the intestine. Of course if you're eating a half cup of Soup and still full after several hours, you may want to ask your doctor about other possibilities.
