tstevens28 9 Posted July 29, 2012 Is there a difference? People say with dumping- its almost immediate.. Ive had a few times where I'm done eating- have wicked burbs and about an hour later I get sick.. Is that from eating fast or is that dumping? The problem is- it happens on stuff I shouldn't dump on.. No sugars..
kiwiladydee 402 Posted July 29, 2012 I can eat pickle - 1 spear. One day I was super hungry and I ate 2 spears and had to run straight to the bathroom. I know not to eat 2 or maybe I ate too fast. I ate a few bites of a egg and I had to hold myself for 2 to 3 hours with horrible stomach pains until I finally had to go to bathroom. Everyone body is so different. I think there are different degrees of dumping - some go straight to bathroom, some sweat etc. I try to keep a log of when it happens so I will know.
DLCoggin 1,788 Posted July 30, 2012 About 2/3 of folks who experience dumping get it 15 to 30 minutes following consumption of some foods - usually high in sugar or fat. The other 1/3 don't experience the symptoms of dumping for one to three hours or more following eating. So I'd say it may well be dumping. I had my first experience with dumping about seven months out and after eating some red grapes - which led me to believe it was in response to the sugar, but I did not have any vomiting. Light headedness, dizzyness, "the shakes", diarrhea, even fainting (rare) - are all possible symptoms of dumping. How often has it happened and what food(s) brought it on?
