And I feel great!

I have read so many posts saying they regretted their decision for the first week but not me. Yes there's the expected pain but I'm 36 hours out of surgery and can get in and out of bed with esse and can walk comfortably.

So excited for the rest of my life ahead of me!

At first when I woke up from surgery I was like "OMG why did I do this" of course after the day wore on and I got use to the uncomfortableness I was OK. Once I got up and started moving around and was able to walk off the gas I was good to go and never regretted the surgery after that.

I had thoughts of regret my first night home. I couldn't get comfortable, I was full of gas and couldnt pass gas. my pee stream was weak so naturally I looked up stuff on the Internet and scared my self half to death with stuff I read. But I ended up getting through the night and that was 2 days ago and I haven't had the thought of regret since. I know I have a long way to go still do we shall see.

My roommate at the hospital had a hard time urinating. Drink your three mini cups an hour and with your iv drip out should come. As for pain on the left side yep I got it and gas just walk it out. Three days after surgery I'm still getting rid of gas although it doesn't hurt anymore

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
