PattyKaiser 5 Posted July 26, 2012 Hey everyone! I was wondering if I am the only one having trouble eating, I am 8 weeks out and cannot keep any food down, I am constantly trying to eat, but everything, and I mean everything at the least makes me nauseated. I am taking Zofran as often a I can. At 4 weeks post-op, I had an EDG, and everything was great but my doc put me back on the soft diet phase, which I am still on, I vomit the "foam" whenever I eat any Protein. I ave lost over 50 pounds since surgery. I can eat ice chips without feeling nauseated or vomiting, but that is it. a chubby girl from wyoming 1 Sunflwr76 reacted to this
Sunflwr76 45 Posted July 26, 2012 I had the exact same problem. Unfortunately I will tell you for me that last about 12/13 weeks. Even the thought of food made me sick during that time. Keep trying to eat and drink. Even if you have only 1 bite of food it's better than nothing. It does get better..I'm 17 weeks post op! It's a long, frustrating journey but totally worth it! kiwiladydee 402 Posted July 26, 2012 Hi Patty. I'm going through the same thing. I was able to eat oatmeal because it did not have a smell. I just found a shake I could tolerate (12th time is the charm!!). I can't be in the house when someone is cooking. - I will start gagging really bad!! Try - cheese - low fat, oatmeal, fruit with cottage cheese, small amounts of yougart and Soup.
PattyKaiser 5 Posted July 28, 2012 I am just frusterated, I have tried many different foods, waiting between bites, and I will know by taking 1 bite if I am going to have to take for nausea. The smell o

Rhonda 6 Posted July 28, 2012 My daughter was cooking herself something and I immediately started gagging from the smell! It was the BBQ Sauce, loved it before but now the mere scent sends me to the bathroom. :0(
