I desperately need to increase my Protein levels, but I have not yet found a shake I can actually drink they all make me gag and I can only get in one or two swallows. Everyone keeps talking about the unflavored Unjury powder I can add to my food and get in more protein that way.

I went to the unjury site and dang it is expensive. It would cost me 20$ (without shipping0 every week just to get in the extra 40g of protein a dayI am trying to increase my protein by. That is pretty steep. Does anyone know where I can buy it for cheaper or know of as good a product as the unflavored Protein Powder that I can buy?

I need to do this soon cause I can only seem to get in 45 to 50 g of protein a day on a good day through just my food. So HELP!!

I will resort to the extra money if I have to, but would rather not.

Thanks

Protein is out to kill me I swear!!! :)

I just bought and tried Isopure. one serving has 50g of protien and doesn't taste that bad. I think much better than the Bariatric Advantage. Unjury is good also but maybe give isopure a shot if you haven't already.

I have a bag of Isopure that im not using. I know people don't like to buy things from people that's been open, but I wasn't able to drink it and it's just sitting in my cabinet. I think it's the aspartame.

I had this same problem but I decided to experiment. I bought some different flavors of sugar free pudding mix. I use vanilla Protein powder mix mainly as my base then I add two tbs spoons of the sugar free pudding mix to the powder with some ice, shake and enjoy. I also use chocolate, you can mix and match flavors it really makes a big difference. Hope this helps

Ok I bought the unflavored Unjury Protein powder. I read where people put it in with their crystal light. I tried that this morning with orange crystal light and yuck! It still had a bad taste & the smell gets me. Also, I hate the foam after you shake it, that's yucky too.

I make a smoothie with whey Protein powder, frozen berries, banana, yogurt milk and ice. It is wonderful and has 32 grams of protein. I have it for dinner sometimes. There is also special k protein plus and milk for b'fast. I like pure Protein Shakes but cannot do protein powders except in the smoothie.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
