5 Days Post Op & Not Full...at All.

Recommended Posts

Its been 5 days since surgery, and I've been home for 2. I've been drinking liquids. But have yet to feel full or hungry.

Even if I drink quickly, the most I get is some gas but I'm even able to tolerate that.

I'm starting to worry a bit. As I don't want to not feel restricted.

Give your tummy some time to heal and give yourself some time to learn it's new signals.

I was the same way I'm 6 weeks post op never felt full or hungry kinda sucked because I never felt satisfied. All of a sudden this week it's like the signals clicked and I felt full and satisfied when eating its like my brain had to figure out what it felt like.

I'm almost 3 weeks post op from RNY. I have the same issue with not being full. I can drink with no problems. I get full after several bites of food. I thought I would feel restriction from the surgery.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
