americas_suiteheart 53 Posted July 22, 2012 Only 3 weeks out and have already had a stall in weight loss. Anyone else experience this? Is it common? It has me very worried. I heard its common but my idea of this is ...slow and steady wins the race ! It sucks to know people around your dropping pounds like crazy but your body is just going through shock and doesn't quite know how to react! Hang in there ! Did you have a low starting weight (as in 260 -220) ? If so, this is very common . Are you in your teens, 20, or 30? Age is also a factor . Are you getting in Protein and Water like you are supposed to ? Are you exercising ? Are you following all the rules ? Let me know I'm only 3 days post op but I kinda have an idea of what is going on !!!
lulu 2 Posted July 22, 2012 Yes, I am 33 and started at 225. I follow all the rules and go to the gym 4 times a week. Which is why I am at a loss as to why my weight loss has stopped. I lost 10 lbs the first week, 5 the second and only one last week. Have had no loss at all for about 5 days now. It's just frustrating. 1 americas_suiteheart reacted to this

I didn't go for a week didn't lose anything finally went and 2 lbs went out lol I know TMI but it's the truth! 1 berniec reacted to this
Sandy009 11 Posted July 22, 2012 Well if you are going to the gym it can also be that you gained mussel and lost fat, remember that mussel is heavier than fat
lulu 2 Posted July 22, 2012 I don't have BMs everyday. I guess that could be a factor too, I'm going to try drinking more Water. It can be hard to drink 48 ounces sometimes when you can only sip. I just don't know what else it could be.

I have been getting in my Protein but struggle with the Water intake some days. So do I. The Water intake is my biggest downfall. I sip all day but it can be hard to get down a whole 48 ounces. I have also read that it is possible to have a stall if you don't eat enough calories. I have my 3- wk appointment on Tuesday. Hoping I can get some answers. The last 3 days I just haven't been thirsty and forget to drink. I have been averaging around 500-700 calories a day. The nutritionalist said that's where I need to be. The nutritionalist said that's where I need to be. I was given foods and portion guidelines but not calories. I just calculated my day and it's only 270 calories. Maybe that's my problem. Hmm...I should probably ask about that.

Hmm...I should probably ask about that. That's a little low but check with your dr office or nutritionalist. The amounts you should eat and how long people stay on liquids seems to vary from dr to dr. I was on Clear Liquids a week. Some people were on them for 2 weeks or longer. lulu 2 Posted July 23, 2012 How many calories do you get from Protein shakes? I tend to get 300 from Protein and 300 from food most days. Maybe you can add some protein calories? I may try that. At my one week appointment, my nutritionist said I wasn't at the stage where I needed to worry about protein yet. So I have never had a Protein shake. I'm thinking I'm not taking enough in though. After reviewing everyone's diets.
