Extreme Frustration

Recommended Posts

Sorry this is so long, but I am so frustrated this morning. I only have 1.25cc in a 4cc band. I've had 2 fills up to 1.5cc and each time the extra 1/4cc had to be taken out because I couldn't eat. Last time I thought maybe I didn't wait long enough for the swelling to settle before I had it taken out so this time I waited 2 weeks. It was over Christmas and New Years..I was miserable. Finally, my best friend and hubby made me call the doctor.

I lost 13.9 lbs in those two weeks. After the fill was removed, I gained 5 lbs. I could live with that, I hadn't eaten in two weeks. Then the next couple of weeks I lost 1.5 and 6.5 lbs. This morning (I weigh every Monday morning), I had GAINED 13.2 lbs. I have been careful, I am exercising. I just can't seem to get to that 100 lb lost mark.

Granted I am thankful for every pound I have lost. But it's not enough. I'm only 5'3" ranging between 206 and 193 is not good enough.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

I know how hard it is to get under 200. That seems to be the most difficult point for all of us. I have been struggling with it myself. I don't have much advice other then to just exercise and watch your diet which is what I'm trying to do. I went to my nutritionist and she has me on a diet and I'm trying to hit the gym 4 times a week. Stay positive.

Change is always good...maybe change up your diet a bit or your exercise routine...you never know what could have you blocked. Good Luck!

Hey girls:-)

I know as well what that is and its hard. It helped me so much to hire a personal trainer. She gave me back all my motivation and I started losing again.Sometimes it just helps to eat more for one day, I tried it and it worked for me, I guess the body was used to much to low cal diet and when I broke that rule it started working again. Of course Im not talking about overeating but to have more cals one day in a week or two weeks.

Im with you and wish you a lot of luck and motivation:-)WE CAN DO IT!!!

I feel you. I am a slow loser. What helped me see the weight loss was weighing my self once a month. That may sound silly but, for me atleast it was a mental thing. I know it can be hard but when I first started exercising my muscle started to come in to play. I was gaining muscle and seeing the numbers go up freaked me out. So I stopped checking my weight every couple days and only check once a month. Trust me seeing 4-6 lbs a month feels better than 1 lb a week up 2lbs down 2lbs and so on. I also never eat the same amount of calories everyday. some days I eat more calories. It seems to work. I am 5'3 as well so I understand what you mean. Good luck and keep on.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
