Mel Delburne 11 Posted July 21, 2012 I am two weeks post op and I'm now allowed to start "mush." I've tried cottage cheese. I took one taste of baby food and I don't like it. Any ideas for mush? Anyone tried tuna or is that too thick?
DaniG 54 Posted July 21, 2012 I am 2 weeks out also. I had tilapia and it was fine. Also scramble eggs with cheese and salsa! Refried Beans with cheese salsa and ff sour cream. All yummy
jenneliza 257 Posted July 21, 2012 Basically anything that is low carb enough can be puréed. Just mix it with chicken, beef, or ham broth, milk or Tomato sauce.
Mel Delburne 11 Posted July 21, 2012 Thanks for the ideas
jenneliza 257 Posted July 21, 2012 I googled puréed foods and found some good ideas. You can also use cream of chicken/mushroom/etc Soups for purée liquids. I saw cream of mushroom with scrambled eggs and spinach. Or milk with an omelette. I might even try to purée Chinese food!
amanda11 50 Posted July 21, 2012 Meatballs and sauce I use turkey balls they are lower in calories and same Protein very high and I got the baby food maker blender and it purred everything love it got it at Walmart. tuna wasn't to bad but just picked up balsamic vinegar to try with it. Dietician said that's great bc it has no calories I can have as much as I want! Hope things work out for you!!

jenneliza 257 Posted July 24, 2012 Can't purée yet but I think garlic shrimp or chicken teriyaki would mush well.
