Anyone has a key to making Protein Shakes tolerable? I've tried at least 6 different brands and have spent a lot of money. I gag on the smell and can not stand the fake sugar taste. Help!!!

I am having the same issue. Just ordered some Capella drops to see if that helps. Might try adding a chunk or two of pineapple or banana. A little instant Decaf coffee sometimes helps.

It takes me a few hours to drink a Protein Drink so I can get two in a day wich is 50-54 grams using Bariatric Advantage or GNC total lean. The total lean really is better but has 200 cals per serving! I just am so sick of these shakes. Also ordered nectar so btwn that and capella hopefully it will get easier. Have you tried Isopure? I tried Protein blitz and thought it was nasty.

Omg ladies! These Protein shakes r the worst hubby can't hardly smell it anymore and I'm trying to keep chugging eas myoplex lite. 20g. I've tried making the smoothies but when I mix in the Protein it ruins it. I am only 1 wk out and so ready to eat a steak or chicken or anything different. I made taco bake last night and it has ground turkey, kidney Beans, cheese. Packed with protein. I'm just gonna just work on protein packed recipes.

Go to Nashua Nutriion's web site and you can order samples of all the Protein shakes they carry. For $1.95 they give you a single serving size to try before you spend too much. GNC also allows 30 days for returns on Protein powder. I use Isopure Zero Carb Vanilla and add SF white chocolate Syrup and some chocolate extract to it. I like it. I have also tried Protizyme Peanut Butter Cookie and it was amazing and BSN Whipped Vanilla Cream - also good.

I have to add SF syrup and doctor it up good to drink it but they taste really good to me that way. Good luck!

Also, I mix mine with Water, not milk. Makes it a lot thinner and tolerable to me. I drink it with a LOT of ice too. Better when they are really cold. Seems like the smell goes away.

I really like Syntrax nectar. If you go to best price nutrition's website they sell a sampler pack so you can figure out what flavor you like best. Otherwise I suggest adding some mint extract to change the flavor a little.

Can you eat anything else?? When was your surgery?

I had surgery 8 days ago. Tried to thin baby oatmeal and potato leek Soup but was full for like 6-8 hours after 1.5 oz. I can get down powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein chicken broth easier bc it counts as a clear liquid. I found that oh yeah shakes and GNC total lean are thinner, more like milk consistency and go down much easier. The only place I can find oh yeah around here is gas stations but they retail nationally and online.

When I went to the surgeon they told me to forget about the Protein for a little while and just focus on hydrating so back to clears for a few more days. She said I will be fine for a few more days and then start again.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
