I went back after two weeks too! Now I'm wishing I would have taken the full 3 weeks off lol. I'm super sore on m left side but I work in a preschool so probably wasn't the best idea to come back so soon!

My doctor won't let me back to work for 6 weeks Becuse of my job I drive a tractor trailer and have to pull my self up into the back to close over head doors. So my wife and kids are doing a staycation this year. Some activitys I can't join in but I can walk and have fun with the family. Besides my daughter starts back to collage next week along with my wallet I'll miss my wallet.LOL

HI: I had some low potassium numbers. Mostly from the pre-surgical liquid diet. It was fixed with a large pill. Other than that, no problems whatsoever. Well, I did have a few foamie incidents, but not for a while.

Hang in there.

I had my surgery on April 23rd at 7:30am. Of course my friend came on the 22nd which sucked since you wear a tampon. I was out of surgery around 1pm. I have been in ICU since Thursday afternoon. My doctor said I will be in here until Monday, Tuesday the latest. Monday, he is going to do the stomach test to see if everything is working properly. I won't have anything to drink or eat until Monday.

Prepost weight 274

14 days of liquid diet, cheated twice

Day of surgery 258.4

I am not sure how much I weigh now and my body is swollen from the gas that they fill your tummy before surgery and the fluids that are going into me 24/7.

I had surgery on March 12th.....I was in the hospital for 11 days. I had a collapsed lung, pneumonia and the tc scan dye damaged my kidneys. oh, and I got oral thrush that lasted a month. I cried and regretted my decision for the first few weeks until I walked three miles with my husband and dog. I was able to fit into clothes that were too tight a month ago. I was able to reach my body parts and be more flexible. Each day gets better and better. I no longer regret it but the complications were definitely a rough patch.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
